The Dick Smith “Be Kind” Scholarship
This $2,000.00 scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating senior from Miami East High School. The applicant must be pursuing a Technical, Trade School, or an Associates Degree, overall good citizenship, involvement in school and community, volunteer work, etc. Applicant must provide a short essay.
Catherine Fulton Bensman Memorial Scholarship
This $500 scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior from Miami East High School with a minimum GPA of 3.0, participated in one or more sports teams while at Miami East, participated as an active member of 4-H or the Miami East FFA Program.
Brent J. Black Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is available to a graduating Troy High School or Miami East High School senior attending an accredited program at a two-year or four-year college or university majoring in Business.
Lester and Cleon Bowers Family Scholarship
This scholarship is available to graduating seniors of Miami East High School pursuing a 1, 2 or 4 year post-secondary program at an accredited college, university or technical school. The scholarship is based on academic effort, integrity and community service. One $1,500.00 scholarship will be given.
Elizabeth and Leon Brown and Frank and Sara Montross Scholarship
This scholarship is available to graduating seniors who reside in either the Troy City School District or Miami East School District. Students may attend Troy Christian High School or Lehman Catholic High School if residents of the aforementioned schools districts. $10,000 four year renewable scholarships will be awarded to students who will be attending an accredited college, university or technical school. Scholarship is renewable with full time student status and a GPA of at least 2.0.
Casstown United Methodist Church Scholarship
This scholarship is available to a Miami East High School graduating senior pursing a post-secondary education at a two or four year accredited college, university, or technical school. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded.
Morris and Mildred Duer Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a Miami East High School senior to pursue an education at an accredited 2 or 4 year college, university or technical school. The scholarship applies to the first year of post-secondary instruction only.
Max H. Duff Family Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was created in memory of Max and is awarded to Miami East High School graduating seniors who are pursuing a degree in agriculture or its related sciences at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university or at a technical or trade school. Candidates must have been active members of the Miami East FFA chapter for at least 3 years. One $250 scholarship will be awarded.
Mildred W. Fredericks Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to graduating seniors of Miami East High School who reside in either Brown or Lost Creek Township and are pursuing further education at a college or university in a course of study of not less than 4 years leading to a bachelor’s or master’s degree or its equivalent. One $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.
Grant Gillespie Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to a Miami East Local School District High School senior planning to further their education at an accredited two or four year college or university, or technical or trade school. The student must be an athlete. Each applicant will submit an essay describing how they exemplify being passionate, kind and courageous. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded.
David R. Martin Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of David R. Martin. This scholarship will be awarded to a Miami East High School graduate. (3) $1,000 scholarship(s) will be awarded.
Kevin Scully McMaken Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Kevin Scully McMaken. Kevin was a Firefighter and Paramedic for the City of Kettering. He loved his job as a firefighter/paramedic and had made an impact in his short time working in Kettering. This scholarship is designed to help carry on his passion for public service. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating Miami East senior pursuing a career in public service.
Miami East Alumni Association Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is given by the Miami East Alumni Association and is available to graduating seniors who will pursue their education at an accredited 2 or 4 year university.
Miami East Education Foundation Scholarship
Multiple $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who will be continuing their education at a regionally accredited college, university or technical school. Must have a 2.5 GPA For more information contact the Miami East High School guidance office.
Jean Morrow Memorial Scholarship
Five (5) $500 scholarships will be awarded to a Miami East graduating senior who will be continuing their education at an accredited college, university, or technical school.
Rappold Family “First Generation” Scholarship
One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a Miami East graduating senior who will attend a 2 or 4 year college or university and will be the first in their immediate family to attend a college or university.
Rhonda Stewart Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Rhonda Stewart and is available to a graduating senior of Miami East High School who will attend an accredited four-year college or university to pursue a degree as a Registered Nurse. Applicants must have an accumulative GPA of at least a 3.4, be involved in at least one extra-curricular activity and be pursuing a degree as a Registered Nurse. One $1,000 scholarship will be given.
Beverly Wagner Memorial Scholarship for Education
One $500 scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating senior from Miami East High School that is pursuing a career in education. This scholarship was established to help Miami East graduates become teachers. Beverly Wagner valued education and recognized the impact teacher make in the lives of their student.
Suzanne Hartzell Wallace Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to one Miami East High School senior to pursue an education at an accredited two or four year college, university or technical school. Two $6,000 scholarships will be awarded. For more information contact the Miami East High School guidance office.
Kathryn C. White Memorial Scholarship
This $400 scholarship is available to graduating Miami East seniors who reside in Brown Township and will be attending an accredited a 2 or 4 year college, university or technical school.
Harold F. (Hal) Willis Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Hal Willis, this $750 scholarship is available to a graduating Miami East or Troy High School male student pursuing post high school education at The Ohio State University in the field of accounting and/or finance.
Arlene Sparks Memorial Scholarship
This $500 scholarships is available to Miami East High School Seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who are pursuing a post-high school education in the field of education.
Miami East Athletic Boosters
Four $500 scholarships will be available to the two highest scoring female students and the two highest scoring male students. Scores are based on GPA and athletic participation.
Dale Sotzing-Miami East Basketball-Trade School Scholarship
This scholarship will be available for Miami East Seniors who have played 4 years of basketball and have plans to attend a trade school.
