The Troy Foundation’s Governing Board set aside $260,000 in 2021 to create the Priority Needs Fund to be used to address the most pressing needs of Troy. The needs – led by transportation and childcare – were identified as a result of contracting with Measurement Resources Company to conduct a community needs assessment of the Troy community, which was completed in 2020. The Governing Board set aside an additional $385,189 in December of 2022. To date the Distribution Committee has awarded over $330,000 to programs directly addressing the priority needs in our community.
Priority Needs Grants
Projects that address any of the priority needs identified in the 2020 Community Needs Assessment may apply for grants using the Priority Needs Grant application. The application deadlines and notification process are the same as General Fund grants but the scope of the project should fall under one of the listed areas of childcare, transportation, housing, or mental health care. If you are unsure whether your request qualifies as a Priority Needs Grant, please contact the Foundation’s grants manager.
Grant applicants will be notified in writing of the decision of the Distribution Committee within 10 days of the grant review meeting. Those who are approved will be required to complete a Grant Acceptance Form before funds can be disbursed and will be required to submit a Final Report Narrative within ninety days of receiving the grant or at the completion of the project or program for which the funds were received.
For more information on Priority Needs Grants see our Priority Needs Fund Grant Information and Guidelines.
